Do people understand the messages they receive?

The last two posts I reported about conversations with professional people via email.

In both cases it seemed that they did not pay attention to what was being said and were giving meaningless or stupid answers.

Is this a sign of the times?

People are continously connected, they send a lot of messages, sometimes compulsively, but they do not take the time to read what other people are trying to tell them, before answering.

It seems that their whole goal is to send as many messages as possible, not to be as meaningful as possible.
